MADISON PRINT CLUB NEWS
April 2023 - Annual Spring Meeting
The Madison Annual Spring Meeting will be held on Tuesday May 9th at 4pm in the Grand Meeting Room at Capital Lakes, 333 W Main Street, Madison WI.
The MPC will unveil the edition of its 2023 presentation artist Faisal Abdu'Allah, Professor of Printmaking at UW Madison and the Chazen Family Distinguished Chair of Art. Faisal will be in attendance to share his print making philosophy and discuss his print Madam C.J. Morgan.
The MPC will also introduce the 2023 Student Printmaking Awardee, who will be offered the chance to speak to the membership at the meeting and present a portfolio of prints.
Other business will include the nomination for renewal of board positions for Leah Kolb, Frank Stein, and Marge Sutinen.

March 2023 - Madison Print Club Artist edition for 2023 will be executed by Faisal Abdu’Allah, whose current exhibition at MMOCA is on view until April 2nd

May 2nd 2-4pm, MPC members can pick up their copy of Aenigma #1 by artist Alice Wimmer in the lobby of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art

2021 MPC artist Alice Wimmer's intaglio print, Aenigma #1, is being prepared for distribution. Artist Jane Hammond has agreed to produce a print for the MPC in 2022.

After all the postponements - The 2020 prints by artist Maser will be distributed to members in the lobby of the MMOCA. The galleries are open, so don't forget to check out Uncommon Accumulation upstairs.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic the student print selection, the annual meeting and 2020 print distribution have all been postponed. We will post more information about rescheduling these events in the future.

Three Board member terms are expiring and open for re-election. They are: Karin Ketarkus, John Paul Croake, and Lori Hayward. Following the short business meeting, this year's print artist, Andy Burgess, will unveil the print and present information on his work. The MPC Student Award recipient, Derrick Hibbs, will present his work and have some prints on display for sale.

MOCA EXHIBITION OF PRINTS BY TYANNA BUIE WILL BE CO-SPONSORED BY THE MADISON PRINT CLUB.
She is a previous Madison Print Club student Award recipient and 2010 University of Wisconsin MFA graduate. A Chicago and Milwaukee native currently residing in Detroit, Ms. Buie is currently an Assistant Professor/ Section Chair of Printmaking at the College of Creative Studies. In 2012 she received an emerging artist Mary L. Nohl Fellowship and was the recipient of the 2015 Love of Humanity Award from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and the prestigious 2015 Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors Grant. Her larger than life mixed media prints have their roots in her life story but are wide ranging in their human understanding.
